What to Bring

To help you enjoy a comfortable and relaxed stay at Riverbend Cabin Retreat, we recommend bringing the following items:

Comfort & Bedding

  • For an additional $150 per stay, you can opt for our full bedding package to ensure a smooth, stress-free arrival and departure. This package includes fresh sheets, pillows, and comforters, all prepared for you upon arrival. *This bedding package does NOT include any bedding for the RV trailer on site.

  • If you do NOT choose to purchase the full bedding package, you will need to bring your own: sheets, pillows, and all comforters/blankets.

  • The main floor bedroom is equipped with a ceiling fan, while both upstairs bedrooms include portable fans and sound machines for your convenience.

Food

  • You will need to bring your own groceries, snacks, drinks, coffee, condiments, etc.

  • Some basic supplies already included at the cabin are: olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, sugar, and some miscellaneous spices.

  • Well water is tested and drinkable, but you can bring your own water bottles if preferred.

Kitchen Items

  • Most kitchen items are already provided at the cabin, including all dish cloths and towels, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher pods, cleaning supplies, paper towel, cooking foil, parchment paper, ziploc bags, saran wrap and more.

  • Most kitchen utensils and cookware are already provided at the cabin, including all cutlery, dishes, pots and pans, frying pans, stainless steel frying pan, cast iron frying pan, crockpots, waffle maker, dutch oven pan, small blender, electric hand mixer, Nespresso machine, 14 cup coffee percolator, electric water kettle, aluminum containers, oven cookware and baking sheets, mixing bowls, and more.

Entertainment

  • The cabin includes a selection of family-friendly DVDs, games, books, and puzzles, and you’re welcome to bring along any favourites of your own as well.

  • A DVD player and TV screen are available for use at the cabin.

  • The upstairs playroom is a wonderful space for kids to enjoy, featuring a small play kitchen, children’s picture and reading books, wooden blocks, magnetic toys, and a variety of other fun items. Feel free to also bring any of your favourite toys as well.

  • There is no internet and very limited data/cell reception at the cabin. Cellular data quality depends on your provider, with Rogers generally offering the strongest service.The cabin experience is designed to help you step away from technology and social media, and reconnect with a slower, simpler pace of life.

Outdoor & Waterfront Essentials

  • The cabin offers a variety of outdoor amenities for your enjoyment, most of which are stored in the outdoor shed. These include three children’s kayaks, two adult kayaks, a paddle boat, assorted life jackets for adults and children, two outdoor hammocks, fire-roasting sticks, a badminton net with rackets and a selection of beach toys.

  • We recommend that you bring your own sunscreen, bug spray, and beach towels.

  • Feel free to bring your own personal life jackets and beach toys if you prefer to use your own.

  • The cabin is furnished with a variety of outdoor seating options, including a large picnic table, patio table and chairs, an umbrella, Muskoka chairs, and additional outdoor furniture. You’re also welcome to bring your own lawn chairs if you’d like extra seating by the river or at the beach.

Outdoor Kitchen & BBQ & Fire

  • The outdoor kitchen is equipped with a variety of grilling utensils for your convenience.

  • A Blackstone grill and a BBQ are available for use, and propane and lighters are provided.

  • An outdoor Iron Embers fire pit is available, with a cooking grill that can be attached for cooking over the fire, as well as fire-roasting sticks.

  • All firewood for both the indoor and outdoor fire is provided.

  • You’re welcome to bring your own disposable items, such as paper plates and cups, if you prefer.

Other Personal Items

  • The cabin bathroom provides toilet paper, a hair-dryer, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, q-tips, kleenexes and body wash for your convenience.

  • The cabin bathroom also provides fresh bathroom towels, face cloths, a hand towel and bath maths for use during your stay.

  • A first aid kit with basic supplies, fire extinguisher (in electrical room and under kitchen sink), multiple flashlights and candles are available for use at the cabin.

  • Please bring any preferred toiletries and personal bathroom items (such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair brushes, etc), along with any personal medications or other hygienic essentials.

Cleaning & Laundry

  • While cleaning is included with your stay, a variety of cleaning supplies are also provided for your convenience should you need them during your stay, including cleaning cloths, disinfectants, paper towels, a vacuum, mop, Swiffer and broom.

  • A washing machine and dryer are available for your use during your stay, and laundry detergent and a laundry hamper is provided.

IF YOU ARE RENTING THE ADDITIONAL RV TRAILER ON SITE (* additional fee of $250 per stay; summer months only)

  • The trailer comes stocked with a variety of items, including utensils, dishes, some cookware, and other essential kitchen supplies.

  • You will need to bring your own bedding for the trailer, including sheets, pillows, and blankets. Sleeping arrangements include one large double bed, a pull-out couch, and two single bunk beds.

  • A small outdoor bbq and Coleman stove are available for use with the RV trailer
